2011 School Supplies Drive! Help LIFNB & CS Share Needed Supplies this Back-2-School Season!

It’s back-to-school season and students need their school supplies, but for many Long Island families this can be a costly burden to overcome. Purchases like notebooks, backpacks, sneakers, etc… add up creating a heavy burden on many families struggling in this recession.

A reflection on the past year - Discussion & Thoughts 2009

Thinking back on 2009, Long Island Food Not Bombs did a lot! It was a year of community solidarity. As friends, as neighbors, as individuals, we all struggled against the hardships forced onto us by the recession. But as a community we were able to overcome them. And with that in mind we invite you to glance over some of our achievements in the past year.

Call to action, Tues. Jan. 19th: Support the people of the Huntington Station Tent City!

Starting at 10am tomorrow morning (Jan.19th) and going through 4pm in the afternoon we are asking everyone to contact (call, email, fax, etc…) the Town of Huntington. Tell them to stop any further eviction activities until the Township of Huntington has an adequate Shelter System.

Urgent call to action! Police raze Huntington Station Tent City destroying the property, food and shelter of over a hundred homeless. Many face possibility of freezing to death! Long Island Food Not Bombs needs your help to prevent that from happening!
