For nearly 9 years now Long Island Food Not Bombs has been sharing vegetarian groceries with our neighbors in need. When we started we were just some punk kids with a folding table and a garbage bag of bread. In time, our community grew to be more representative of the neighborhoods we work in.

Starting, November 21st and going on through December 2nd, Community Solidarity, Inc. Long Island Food Not Bombs will be holding their largest endeavor to date; it will include parties, Food Shares, copious amounts of decadent meals, the sharing of clothing, books and the organized efforts of hundreds of community members.

Let's talk about the BIG PICTURE. Community Solidarity, Inc. does so so so much! We're a grassroots organization made up of over a thousand volunteers, we share millions of pounds of food each year and we've helped Tens of Thousands of people across Long Island and the NYC/Metropolitan area.

As we near the 8-year anniversary of our founding this June, Long Island Food Not Bombs is now sharing hundreds of thousands of pounds of groceries each month! We're also sharing other necessities like clothing, hot vegan meals, school supplies, toys and toiletries to folks in need here in our own community. Want to help us make things even better?

It’s been a few years since we started up our decentralized community agricultural program, the “Peach Tree Project”. The name doesn’t do justice to the variety of the plants or skills we share, but it does embody the image of a community in growth and that’s kind of the point.
